Attack of the Spider People

Myth or growing legend? We do not know.
But what we do know is there has been some recent reports of ride hi-jackings, races infiltrated, and General disarray in the local cycling community with some Spider like clad bike riders as primary suspects.

It has been reported that these suto web-slinging riders have been out on the roads perpetrating dubious semi-evil yet benign acts of relatively unnoticable destruction.

We do not know their origin, or their intent, but one would be wise to employ caution before provoking these unpredictable and potentially vicious creatures.

Mount Diablo

SPIDER-GAZING TRIGGERS ACCIDENT: Tarantula mating season at Mt. Diablo State Park indirectly caused a bicycle accident that injured two people over the weekend, the California Highway Patrol reported.

CHP Officer Scott Yox said the accident occurred Sunday approximately two miles outside the park's north entrance as a man was looking at tarantulas on the side of the road.

A Contra Costa County man riding his bicycle downhill suddenly slowed to see what the man was looking at. The cyclist's wife, who was tailing him closely on her bicycle, collided with him.

Yox said one or both of the bicyclists, both 55 and both wearing helmets, were knocked unconscious. The husband also suffered a broken arm.
